Wild Horses: A New Adobe Town Arrival at Black Hills Wild Horse Sanctuary
I recently visited the Black Hills Wild Horse Sanctuary to witness the release of 10 wild horses from Adobe Town into their new home—a vast open pasture.
Upon arrival, I was pleased to see that tensions had eased among the former stallions. Sundance maintained a respectful distance from Bronze Warrior’s family. It was heartening to see Bronze Warrior with his family. Theodore, Diamond Girl, and Snowfall were busy eating hay, and I was relieved to see Snowfall had regained most of the weight he lost during the roundup and at the corrals. Diamond Girl had developed quite a belly, leading me to speculate about potential pregnancies among the mares. Although Gwendolyn lost her foal at the Rock Springs Corrals, Diamond Girl, Aurora, and Sabrina appeared to be expecting.
