West Douglas Roundup: A Heartbreaking EventWest Douglas Roundup: A Heartbreaking Event

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) White River Field Office in Colorado conducted a roundup from September 16-24, 2015, removing 167 wild horses from the West Douglas Herd Area. Tragically, there were two deaths during this operation. One horse died after falling and being trampled by another horse. A foal, depicted in the video below, suffered a broken leg after being chased by contractors and was subsequently euthanized.

A video below by Krisztina Gayler shows a foal who, according to observers, had been chased for upwards of an hour. The foal is visibly hurt and was soon euthanized after a veterinarian determined his leg was broken.
