Report: Wild Horse Roundups Aren't Working
A potentially huge turning point for the beautiful wild horses that roam the American West has emerged. The new Interior Secretary of the United States decided to wait for the National Academy of Sciences to release a report before proceeding with wild horse roundups. This report has now been published, delivering scathing criticism of the Wild Horse and Burro Management Program.
The report states, "Continuing 'business as usual' will be expensive and unproductive for B.L.M. [Bureau of Land Management] and the public it serves."
Critics have long argued that these roundups are unnecessarily cruel and inhumane.
