DENVER - The Congressional Committee has voted to reverse a ban on killing wild horses, a decision that could significantly impact wild animal populations in Colorado.
The Denver Post reports that the House Appropriations Committee voted to lift the ban on killing wild horses and burros. This ban was initially part of a spending bill signed by President Donald Trump.
The Bureau of Land Management advocated for removing the ban to control horse populations. However, the American Wild Horse Conservation (formerly American Wild Horse Campaign) argues that this decision equates to a death warrant for healthy animals.
