Eyewitness Report: Fallon/Indian Lakes Wild Horse Corrals

(May 13, 2023) On Friday, May 12, the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) held an annual public viewing of the privately owned and operated Indian Lakes Wild Horse and Burro Corrals in Fallon, Nevada. The facility recently doubled its capacity, and can now hold up to 7,600 wild horses and burros. At this time, they estimated approximately 2,600 horses and 9 burros were being kept at the facility.

NGOs Pledge Reward MATCH for Justice in Utah Wild Horse Slayings 

Tooele, Utah (March 23, 2023) –  Today, the American Wild Horse Campaign (AWHC) announced that it has pledge $5,000 to a Bureau of Land Management’s (BLM) reward fund in hopes of bringing justice to the case of the brutal killing of wild horses from the popular Onaqui Herd Management Area (HMA) discovered this week.

Eyewitness Report: BLM Adoption Event in Mercedes, Texas

(Jan 30, 2023) On January 27-28th a satellite adoption event was held at the Rio Grande Valley livestock showgrounds in Mercedes, TX with a selection of 14 burros and around 80 horses. They traveled from Pauls Valley, OK and arrived the day before the event started.

Report: Pauls Valley Off-Range Corrals Adoption Event

Pauls Valley Off-Range Corrals consists of 400 acres divided into 12 big pastures. It’s located right off I-35 about an hour's drive south of Oklahoma City. The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) considers these corrals a “resting point” for horses coming from the West and will go to adoption events in the central and eastern parts of the United States. The facility currently holds around 500 horses and has the capacity to hold 600.
