Feeling Blessed.

I think I loved horses before birth and could not possibly dream of doing anything else with my life.

Photography is this fascinating medium. Ultimately it's capturing a moment in time, never to be duplicated - never to be erased. It has rules. But it's a rebel with opportunities to break those rules. There is a checklist of things that need to be in order. From measuring light and shadow to understanding speed and stop motion. There are linear steps to take in order to attain your goals. However, the single most deeply important element, in my opinion, is capturing emotion. Without it, you have no story and with no story, you have no image. A perfectly composed image can still be hollow and lack authenticity.

Emotions and horses are woven together and move as swiftly as the winds across a desert floor. Twisting and turning in moments faster than our human eyes can capture. These moments are intuitive, and must be felt with the heart.

Offering a visual journey into their world of survival and family through an intimate and minimal style has been at the core of this work. Stripping back the noise to connect your soul to these remarkable creatures, and inspiring you to engage is carefully curated with every image that is produced.

Horses, especially wild ones, stir our insides. We are inspired by survivors. The wild horse is a supreme example of a survivor, a noble and mighty creature. Their entire being exemplifies physical strength inside sculpted bodies of massive moving muscle, yet their calm, deep liquid eyes have a knowing of zen we, at our truest and deepest core yearn to harness. They carry out our hopes and dreams of freedom and independence, strength and courage with a heart the size of the sky.

They are alluring. They are captivating. They are magical.

They deserve to be free.

For this year's Holiday Event, I felt compelled to do something special. We have all endured such a long, arduous year and my hope is we all give back in ways we can support. Sharing these creatures with you, so you in turn can share with others creates a small ripple in the world of beauty. As you elevate your space with wildness, you spark the conversation for protections and conservation.

It has been an honor standing by and working with the American Wild Horse Conservation (formerly American Wild Horse Campaign) all these years. Like the wild horse, they inspire me with strength and grit to keep up the work it will take to keep these magnificent beasts WILD & FREE.

From now until Dec. 31 I will be offering Open Editions in a small, treasured size of 8x12. You will receive 20% off your entire order + 20% donated to AWHC. Just enter Stay Wild at checkout.

Have a beautiful, heartfelt Holiday & May wild things be free FOREVER, xoKC
