The Year Ahead for Wild Horses: Challenges and Opportunities

The New Year brings significant challenges and opportunities in the ongoing fight to protect America's wild horses and burros. With increasing pressure to lift the ban on killing or selling these national icons for slaughter, the new Congress and Administration will play a crucial role in determining their fate. In response, the American Wild Horse Conservation (formerly American Wild Horse Campaign) is ramping up its lobbying, legal, PR, and grassroots efforts to ensure wild horses have a powerful voice in government, the courts, and public opinion.

We are immensely grateful to our supporters for providing the resources necessary to continue this battle in 2017 for the future of our wild horses and burros. We are pleased to report that our end-of-year fundraising drive was a tremendous success, with over 2,500 citizens contributing. Thanks to your support, we exceeded our goals and secured $100,000 in matching funds, proving once again that we are a formidable force!
