Public Meetings Scheduled for BLM Management Plan in Carson City District
The U.S. Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is set to hold a series of public meetings to discuss its proposed long-range management plan for 4.8 million acres of public land in the Carson City District. This plan aims to provide an 'intermediate' level of resource protection, balancing conservation efforts with public land use.
Public Meeting Schedule
The BLM will conduct six public meetings to gather input on the draft resource management plan. These meetings will begin on Tuesday, with the BLM accepting written comments on the plan through March 27.
The Carson City District encompasses Carson City, Churchill, Douglas, Lyon, Mineral, Nye, Storey, and Washoe counties in western Nevada, as well as parts of Alpine, Lassen, and Plumas counties in eastern California.
