Nevada: Mustang Monument Resort Echoes Old West with Modern Amenities
Experience the allure of the Old West at the Mustang Monument Wild Horse Eco-Resort, a luxurious yet rugged retreat located in the wilderness of Wells, Nevada. This unique resort offers guests the chance to immerse themselves in Native American and cowboy traditions while observing wild mustangs in their natural habitat.
Thanks to the efforts of activist and philanthropist Madeleine Pickens, the resort spans 900 square miles between the Ruby and Spruce mountains. Opened in June, it is situated about 180 miles west of Salt Lake City.
Guests can enjoy a unique glamping experience in one of 10 hand-painted tepees for $1,000 a night, featuring plush leather chairs, down pillows, hardwood floors, and custom-made king-size beds. For those seeking more luxury, a safari cottage is available for $1,500 a night, offering a mix of cowboy chic and modern decor with a spacious en suite bathroom and a deck overlooking the great outdoors.
All proceeds from the resort support the care and rehabilitation of the horses through Pickens' nonprofit organization, Saving America’s Mustangs. Since 2010, Pickens has rescued 650 wild mustangs from slaughter.
Visitors can engage in various activities, including horseback tours, walking tours, safari-style rides, horse-drawn wagon trips, roping and archery lessons, guided historic hikes, and authentic Native American beading and moccasin classes. After a day of adventure, relax with a spa treatment in the Wellness Tipi, dine under the stars, or try your luck in the Saloon.
Don't miss the opportunity to visit Mustang Monument before the season ends on September 30. For more information, visit the Mustang Monument website.
