The Birth of Oahu

On March 3, 2016, mustangs Blue-Eyed Jack and Molasses of the Whiskey Jack herd welcomed a beautiful filly to Nevada's Virginia Range.

Oahu and her parents.

She was given the name Oahu by volunteer field documenter Jeremy Davidson because her markings looked like the Hawaiian Islands.

Oahu's Offspring

In 2019, Oahu foaled a little filly named Moana, who looked remarkably like her mother, including the blue eye and prized eyeliner.

Moana, present day.

Then in 2020, Oahu foaled Hanauma (called Hana for short), who was named after Hanauma Bay on the Island of Oahu.

Hana, Oahu's second-born.
