Apollo: Continued Training and Progress

Apollo's Training Journey: Progress and CompanionshipApollo's Training Journey: Progress and Companionship

Apollo's training journey is a testament to his adaptability and affection. From experiencing human touch for the first time to learning new skills, Apollo's progress is remarkable. His willingness to engage and learn makes him a promising companion for someone special.

Apollo has experienced many new things: being touched with a stick, first human touch, eating from someone’s hand, having a halter and lead rope on, being groomed, learning to give to pressure, being touched on most areas of his body, having his mouth played with, being moved in different directions, being led on a rope, being around new people, being around dogs, having strange items (carts, racks, trash cans, etc.) very close to him, and many other things. Even with all that, he loves the attention and affection of hugging, petting, kissing, and grooming. Additionally, Apollo meets and greets you at the gate and will touch you with his nose. What a great way to start the day!

We are working more and more without having Apollo on a lead rope. He is willing to do what is asked of him even though he knows he can easily get away. He is lifting his feet quicker with every session. We started working on rubbing his tail on top and on bottom to help get him used to being handled there so he will not baulk when his temperature is taken. Although his temperature was not actually taken, he was fine with being touched under his tail. We spend a lot of time enjoying each other with affection and close interaction. It is very easy to love this horse; he is so sweet and works hard to please. I know he will make a great friend and companion for some lucky person.
