2024 Twin Peaks Wild Horse Release
After 960 wild horses were caught from California's Twin Peaks Herd Management Area, the BLM released 47 wild horses back to the range.
In freezing fog and muddy conditions, they were released two sites in Twin Peaks. One was at Horn Ranch and the other at Bull Flat along Smoke Creek Road. At Horn Ranch, 30 mares were released, while Bull Flat received six mares and 11 stallions. All 36 mares had been treated with the fertility control GonaCon, marked by a “FC” neck brand.
